History of Keppel Haven

Keppel Haven commenced operations approximately 35 years ago and, up until 1995, comprised 12 basic cabins (without private amenities), a small number of permanently erected safari tents, a food and alcohol outlet, basic staff accommodation and a communal toilet and shower facility.

In January 2006, Tower Holdings Pty Ltd purchased the resort on Keppel Island known as “Great Keppel Island Resort”.

In 2008 Tower Holding closed down the resort and has put forward a proposal of rebuilding the resort to an international eco standard consisting of a 250 berth Marina, extending the main bitumen runway to cater for prop jet commuter aircraft and a Greg Norman designed golf course. Keppel Haven Resort stands to be benefit greatly from the new resort proposed by Tower Holdings.
